About This Event

The '5 Books That Could Save Your Life' project is a forthcoming public education initiative held at the Tourism and Leisure Building on campus. Organised by Haven Horizons in collaboration with South East Technological University, the event aims to reshape discussions surrounding coercive control. A series of talks featuring various performers will explore this critical topic for attendees. The session is scheduled to take place on 10 November 2026 at no cost to participants.

Haven Horizons in collaboration with South East Technological University (SETU) ​would be delighted to invite you to our 5 Books That Could Save Your Life' event in Waterford on 10 November 2026 at 10:30 am, Tourism and Leisure Building, SETU Waterford Campus. This event is funded by the Shared Island Civic Society Fund, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

11:05 - 12:25 – Moderated Panel Discussion followed by Q&A

The panel will explore five powerful books that challenge how we understand coercive control, examine its links to domestic homicide, and highlight the important role men can play in preventing domestic abuse.
