About This Event

An afternoon of creating candles, with some workbooks first before getting stuck in! 14th September at 1:00pm at GS Artists, 217 High Street, Swansea. Come along and discover the art of candle making in a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment. This fully funded session is perfect for complete beginners who would like to learn a new skill, get creative or simply try something different. During the session, you’ll get hands-on experience creating your own scented candle, exploring different waxes, fragrances and essential oils, as well as learning pouring techniques and those all-important finishing touches. No previous experience or knowledge is needed — just come along, have fun and enjoy learning something new. The session is completely free to attend, and you’re very welcome to bring a friend and learn together, but make sure that you are both booked on, we can’t really allow for drop ins as its so specialised. We are hosting this session for Pendine Education - who are doing something really special, these classes have the addition that you can work towards qualifications by taking part. The sessions are free, but by attending you are required to complete a few short workbook activities, for which you will get lots of support. They are a bit like puzzles, often involving the materials and processes that are part of the creative part of the session. The session will last approximately 2.5–3 hours. The venue is ground floor and accesisible and we have accessible facilities. Refreshments will be on offer. Available to learners aged 16+.
