Eve Menezes Cunningham hosts an online workshop titled Sustainable Practice When the World is on Fire. The session blends polyvagal theory with self-care practices to help trauma therapists manage stress. Prices start from £1.00.
Design a practice that alchemises what hurts your heart into action (while avoiding burnout)
2026, like 2025 and the last several years (especially seemingly since 2020 and Covid) is another challenging year for so many people. So many issues are coming up for healing personally and globally. Everyone is struggling.
The better therapists are at processing, grounding and supporting ourselves, the better we can support our clients and supervisees.
This workshop is designed to help therapists and supervisees recognise that life IS hard for everyone and to identify, recognise and access appropriate self-care and other supports.
You’ll identify resources to support you in taking better care of yourself, redesigning your private practice to be more sustainable even when life keeps throwing curveballs.
**We’ll:**
- look at some of the ways in which the world is on fire
- how it’s showing up in practice and in therapists’ lives (from climate crises and inflation to housing issues, genocide to the rise of the far right and protecting client’s from having their sessions potentially used against them with notes to more personal anticipatory grief, bereavement, illness, perimenopause and menopause, caring responsibilities etc)
- explore experiential ways to ground and resource yourself and give yourself permission to redesign your practice to better suit your sensitive nervous system (especially if you have a trauma history and AuDHD), any chronic pain conditions
- support activism for your own and other marginalised communities and more
- increase grounded, sustainable, powerful support for your whole practice and allowing your practice to have purpose beyond the individual healing
- and alchemise what hurts your heart and potentially specialise in supporting people caught up in wider systems you especially want to support
