Mid-Autumn Festival Film Screening & Sharing Event Valley of the Shadow of Death《不赦之罪》 Join us in Newcastle ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival for a special screening of Valley of the Shadow of Death《不赦之罪》, a Hong Kong psychological crime drama directed by Jeffrey Lam and Antonio Tam, starring acclaimed Hong Kong actor Anthony Wong. The film explores forgiveness, justice, grief, family and faith through the story of Pastor Leung, a grieving father confronted by a young man connected to the death of his daughter. After serving his sentence, the young man is released and placed in the care of the church. Pastor Leung must face a profound conflict between his pain as a father seeking justice and his calling as a pastor who preaches forgiveness. Caught between vengeance and compassion, grief and faith, he is forced to confront some of the deepest questions surrounding forgiveness and redemption. Anthony Wong gives a restrained and compelling performance as a man torn between human pain and spiritual responsibility. The film had its world premiere at the 37th Tokyo International Film Festival, where it was selected for the competitive Asian Future section.
