The Manchester Advanced Trauma Training Paediatric Trauma Cadaveric Course runs from 7–9 October 2026 at the Manchester Surgical Skills & Simulation Centre. The three-day workshop focuses on higher-level paediatric trauma resuscitation and surgery, with fees ranging from £750 to £1100.

One day simulation plus two days cadaveric training focusing on higher-level decision-making in paediatric trauma resuscitation and surgery. Designed to complement courses such as the Paediatric Trauma Life Support (PTLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). This course takes participants through initial assessment and resuscitation in trauma before focusing on the next stage of damage control resuscitation and surgery. Delivered by expert faculty with a pedigree in managing major trauma.
Day one consists of key lectures and simulation exercises to take participants through time critical trauma scenarios to develop higher level decision-making in trauma. Suitable for Emergency Department Residents and Consultants, Paediatric surgeons (ST7+) and Hospital Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) Doctors. the first day is a modified version of the Paediatric Trauma Resuscitation Course (PTRC) designed to meet the needs of Paediatric Surgeons and HEMS doctors.
Days days 2 to 3 build on the technical aspects of damage control surgery with educational surgical videos and cadaveric operating. This allows delegates to rehearse key thoracic, abdominal and vascular trauma procedures in a structured faculty supported environment.
Note: Participants wishing to attend day 2/3 must attend day 1 first.
Course aims:
Create protected time for faculty-led discussion, reflection, and transfer of learning into clinical practice.
Provide practical cadaveric training in core paediatric trauma operative exposures and emergency procedures.
Strengthen decision-making in thoracic, neck, abdominal, and vascular trauma.
Reinforce damage control principles relevant to the injured child.
