The Heritage Festival Beneath the Turf is held on 18 September 2026 at RSPB Insh Marshes car park in Inverness. Jill Harden will explain Lidar survey findings regarding the Cille nan Caetharnack graveyard for £9.38.
Following a Lidar survey of the Cille nan Caetharnack graveyard this spring, Jill Harden will explain the findings, and then visit the site.
Join Jill Harden, RSPB archaeologist, who will talk about the result of a Lidar survey of the Cille nan Caetharnack graveyard. This builds on work that had been undertaken by volunteers over the last four Badenoch Heritage Festivals.
We will meet at the Insh Marshes Lookout and learn about the results of the exciting ground penetrating radar survey undertaken this Spring, before heading along the Invertromie Trail to explore the Graveyard together. The route to the Graveyard will take approx 25 mins and is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies.
Car parking will be at the RSPB Insh Marshes main car park (what3words: ///epic.youth.venturing and grid ref: NN775998). The talk will start at 10am, so please aim to turn up 10 minutes before the start.
Pre-booking is essential.
Please wear stout footwear as the ground may be rough and/or slippery underfoot. Also please wear outerwear that is appropriate for the weather on the day.
We look forward to meeting you at the event!
