The enemy of art: Seeking limitations to expand your world.

Simon's talk will focus on how placing limitations around photographic themes can actually help unlock greater creativity. He will share his own experiences, from working on editorial commissions with a clear brief and set of restrictions, through to developing personal projects where he has deliberately created his own boundaries.

Using real examples from his work, Simon will explore how having fewer choices can encourage you to look harder, think differently and find stronger ideas. He’ll also discuss how personal projects can help photographers develop their style, stay motivated and create more meaningful bodies of work.
