JULY AND AUGUST DIRECTOR SEASON: ALFRED HITCHCOCK The master of suspense takes over the Grosvenor Picture Theatre for 2 months! We show a different Hitchcock film every Monday morning and Wednesday evening in July and August. We will be showing: ROPE REAR WINDOW VERTIGO STRANGERS ON A TRAIN DIAL M FOR MURDER PSYCHO THE BIRDS NOTORIOUS NORTH BY NORTHWEST From experimenting with long takes in Rope to shooting in 3D for Dial M for Murder, and creating one of the most famous editing sequences in all of cinema with Psycho, there's something for every film lover in our picks! Be sure to come along to our special screenings of Notorious and North by Northwest, where we will be joined by Caroline Young, author of Fashioning Hitchcock. Caroline will introduce the films and hold a short Q+A after the screenings, offering insights into Hitchcock’s visual language, sharing stories behind the costumes and the significance of Edith Head’s long-standing collaboration in shaping the look and driving the narrative of Hitchcock’s films.
