About This Event

The Museum Socials at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh offer a free but reservations-required event for those living with dementia and their caregivers to engage with the museum's exhibits. These monthly gatherings take place on the third Friday of each month and aim to enhance visitors' experiences by focusing on accessible, engaging content designed with inclusivity in mind.

Designed for people living with dementia, their relatives, friends and carers, enjoy more of the collection of the National Museum of Scotland. Taking place on the third Friday of the month, these relaxed and informal sessions each explore a different museum theme through a range of interactive activities. Visitors can enjoy curator talks, object handling and creative crafts, accompanied by a warm welcome, tea and cake. Events are free to attend, but booking is required, with spaces limited to 25 people per session. Bookings for each session will open a month before the event. The National Museum of Scotland is located on Chambers Street. A number of Lothian Buses services stop nearby on George IV Bridge and South Bridge, such as routes 8, 14, 31 and 37.
