This is not just creativity — it is part of a growing sustainable mindset, actively supported across Ireland. Through these practices, people reduce waste, develop conscious consumption habits, and contribute to a more sustainable future.As part of the Creative Ireland initiative, we are opening applications for:Eco Craft Laboratory — Heritage through HandsThe program starts on April 30th and ends on October 1st. For six months, we'll meet in person twice a month, and you'll receive assignments to work from home or in small groups. You'll also begin teaching upcycling classes in your communities.This is a non-accredited community learning programme designed for personal development, creative exploration and community engagement.About the programme:

This initiative is designed to support the integration of creative individuals who are looking to explore their potential in Ireland within a supportive community environment. Through shared creative activities, participants will:

• build confidence and self-expression

• develop a sense of belonging and community connection

• reduce social isolation and inner stagnation

• explore creative pathways for personal and community contribution

Participants will also:

• develop confidence to facilitate creative sessions

• gain experience in supporting and co-facilitating workshops

• have the opportunity to get involved as a community facilitator within our network

Participants who wish to stay involved may: support and co-facilitate future workshops get involved as community facilitators continue developing within our creative community initiatives

• Decoupage and surface decoration

• Textile weaving and tapestry

• Restoration of small furniture

• Rug making and fabric crafts from reused textiles

• Paper weaving (baskets and organisers)

• Jewellery from recycled materials

• Textile bead making

• Eco tote bags and fabric accessories

• Creative reuse of glass jars

• Natural materials in interior décorAll materials are reclaimed, reused or donated, reinforcing sustainable and circular practices.
