Synthesize_Her is a feminist sound technology project founded to heal the mind/body split within technological learning environments.
They see the body as a site to access, blend, and merge with technology to transcend gender and species; and believe learning is iterative, peer-to- peer, and non-linear.
Viva Dean is a Belfast based artist and researcher investigating gendered relationships to technology and sound. Viva started Synthesize_Her in 2022.
Róisín Berg is a Limerick-based interdisciplinary artist working with electronic and digital systems, including the development of custom instruments. They lecture in digital art and media at the University of Limerick and run Concept NULL, a grassroots initiative connecting digital artists across Ireland.
Together, Viva and Róisín perform as SPIT, using custom built electronic instruments, samples and movement.
