Would you like to start a career or learn more skills in horticulture? Heart of BS13 are excited to be partnering with Community Learning to offer a FREE 9 week Level 1 City and Guilds Award in Horticulture, starting in September 2026. The course will include both classroom and practical activities and will cover topics such as: – Preparing to plant an area – Planting seeds – Plant care – Identifying plants and weeds – Personal safety This course is for people who: – live in BS13, south Bristol or central Bristol (priority for BS13 residents) – are aged 19+ – have few or no qualifications (below Level 2) – have as lived in the UK/EU/EAA for at least 3 years or have other residency status, eg. refugee, asylum seeker, leave to remain or spouse visa – are unemployed or in part time work No experience required Dates and times: 10am-3pm every Monday for 9 weeks, starting 7 September 2026. Session dates: Mon Sept 7th, Sept 14th, Sept 28th, Oct 5th, Oct 12th, Oct 19th, Oct 26th, Nov 2nd and Nov 9th.
