Ever fancied picking up a knife and turning a simple piece of wood into something beautiful?

Come and spend time in the woodland at the Laudato Si’ Centre and discover the traditional craft of wood carving and whittling.

In this relaxed, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to work with natural wood, explore different carving and whittling techniques and discover how to transform a simple branch into something you can take home and treasure.

Surrounded by trees and the sounds of nature, you’ll have the chance to slow down, work with your hands and connect with the woodland in a completely different way.

Whether you’re an experienced woodworker or have never held a carving knife before, you’ll be very welcome. Our expert guidance will help you develop your skills safely and confidently, with plenty of time to experiment, create and enjoy the process.

No previous experience is needed and everything you need will be provided.

Please note that this takes place in an outdoor environment and there may be some changes to the event based on the weather on the day, so please come dressed appropriately and wear comfortable footwear. There is very limited parking available but we are served by good public transport links.
