About York Dungeon Standard Admission

York Dungeon Standard Admission at York Dungeon journeys through 2,000 years of York’s darkest history. The experience uses live actors, immersive sets and special effects to bring the city’s past to life.

Along the way, you come face to face with the Vikings and learn about their Saxon enemies, before meeting notorious figures including Guy Fawkes and the local witch Isabella Billington. The story also covers the Black Plague and the fearsome torture chamber.

The experience is built around dark historical storytelling, with sights, sounds and smells woven into the show.

Children must be aged 5 and over. York Dungeon is not recommended for under 8s.
