UXBRIDGE FIDE RAPID TOURNAMENT – Sunday 11th October 2026

A six-round Fide rated Rapid Tournament will be held on Sunday 11th October, 2026. Uxbridge Chess Club will host this tournament in two sections- the Open and the Major (U1600) sections.

Rate of play: 10 minutes plus 5 seconds increment per move from move one.

Venue  Our Lady of Lourdes and Saint Michael Hall, 1 Osborn Rd, Uxbridge UB8 1U.

Time: 1 PM  to 6 PM.  Registration will start from 1:00 pm and Round 1 will start at 2:00 pm sharp.

ENTRY FEE FOR BOTH SECTIONS

Standard entry fee is £25 pp

Discount for Club Members & Females

Discounted entry fee of £20 is for the Uxbridge Chess Club members and all adult female participants.

Discount for Juniors

£20 entry fee is for all Junior participants until their 18th birthday.  (Born on or after 2008).

Titled Players

The titled Players, including GM, IM, FM and CM as well as WGM, WIM, WFM, WCM may participate without paying prior entry fee. However, their entry fee will be deducted from the prize money if they win any prize.

Eligibility

All participants of the Open & Major sections must be minimum ECF Gold members and must have FIDE ID.

Prize Money

We are pleased to increase the number of rating prizes for both Open & Major sections and introduce UCC medal for junior participants.

Medal for Juniors

Finally, all junior participants will receive a UCC medal.

In case of a tie, prize money will be shared equally and none will be entitled for more than one prize.

Confirm Your Place:

After the payment of the entry fee, please provide the following six informations by email either to Abu Hasan at abuhasan.chess@gmail.com  or to Daniel Knight   at UxbridgeJuniorChessClub@hotmail.com to confirm your place.

1. First and Last names of the player 2. ECF Rating Code 3. FIDE ID 4. Chosen Section.

5. Name of Club if any & 6. Mobile Number

Last date of entry: Friday 9th October. We have only 70 places and we will follow a first-come, first-served (FCFS) policy.

★ Please do not pay an entry fee after the last date without prior approval from us. Just email your details including ECF Code & Fide ID and wait for our approval.

★ The higher of October ECF and Fide rapid ratings will be taken.

★ Standard and Blitz ratings will be considered in absence of rapid ratings.

Chief Arbiter: Mr Michael Flatt. Fide Rapid rules will apply all through.  The chief Arbiter’s decision will be final in all disputes.

Uxbridge Chess Club has the right to amend the structure and prize money of the tournament if required.

Refund Policy: Cancellations will be allowed until Thursday 8th October and entry fee will be refunded by deducting £5 admin cost.
