Wythenshawe Business Gateway is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to network, build new relationships and hear from inspirational speakers and organisations about issues affecting businesses and our local community.

Spotlight on Supporting Young People into Employment

Join us for our next Wythenshawe Business Gateway on Thursday 25 September 2026, hosted by PZ Cussons.

This event will shine a spotlight on one of the most important issues facing our community - how we can support more young people into employment and help them develop the skills, confidence and aspirations they need for the future.

The evening will bring together local businesses, schools, young people and organisations to explore how we can create stronger pathways from education into employment.

Hear directly from young people

We are delighted to welcome staff and pupils from St Paul's Catholic High School, who will share their experiences of working with BW3 and local businesses.

The pupils will talk about the impact that opportunities such as BW3 Reading Mentoring, inspirational speakers and other business engagement activities have had on their confidence, aspirations and understanding of the world of work.

Panel Discussion - Supporting Businesses to Employ Young People

Our panel discussion will be chaired by Adam Jupp and will explore the challenges young people can face when moving into employment, the support available to employers and what businesses can do to help.

Our panel will include:

Kirsty Greer, DWP - sharing insight into the support available to young people and employers.

Madeleine Hawley, Holiday Inn - bringing an employer's perspective on recruiting and supporting young people.

A young person who was previously NEET and is now working at Manchester Airport - sharing their personal journey into employment.

Anthony Thompson, CEO of Navigators - sharing his experience of supporting young people and the barriers they can face on their journey towards work.

The discussion will look at how businesses, schools and organisations can work together to create more opportunities and stronger pathways into employment for young people.

Speaking to young people about your career or industry

Supporting careers events and workplace visits

Offering work experience

Providing mentoring and employability support

Volunteering in local schools
