Join us for a free immersive walk around Truro to explore what the past and present of this city can reveal about its future

See the city through a new perspective. Join academic and storyteller Dr Matt Valler and climate communicator Peter Lefort on a two-hour guided walk around Truro which lead you through familiar and unfamiliar streets, squares, monuments, and memories to tell new stories about what the future holds for this place, and others like it.

Our world is changing. The weather, food prices, how we move around, how we talk to each other. Never before have we had so much knowledge about what is coming, but sometimes it is hard to imagine the future as it unfolds around us.

Choose from 4 different dates and times, across day times and evenings, whenever suits you. The structure of each walk will be the same, but the experience of each group will be unique and shaped by your own perspectives.

This event is open to all, but is particularly relevant for anyone with a professional or personal interest in the impacts of climate change and the role of adaptation in responding to the changes that are ahead.

Please wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. We will not be walking for the full two hours, but please get in touch if you have any questions about the physical nature of these events.

Dr Matt Valler is an academic and innovator working on co-existence in the Anthropocene. Matt founded the Labyrinth project in 2015 and since then has designed and facilitated interactive storytelling experiences in diverse places, including London, Melbourne, New York, Washington D.C., San Antonio, and Barcelona. Peter Lefort runs the University of Exeter's Green Futures Network, which aims to make academic research into climate change more accessible, engaging, and democratic. Both Matt and Peter are Truro residents.
