808 State shaped the sound of modern electronica. Formed in Manchester in 1988, they defined the UK acid house scene with landmark albums like Newbuild and Ninety (NME 10/10), plus Pacific State, an iconic end-of-night anthem at the Haçienda.

Across three decades, they've crafted genre-defining records that draw from Manchester's industrial past and Detroit techno while pushing toward sonic futures.

Led by founding member Graham Massey, 808 State continues to inspire audiences worldwide.
