George Maw’s Global Suitcase Journey

About This Event

George Maw’s Global Suitcase Journey takes place at Benthall Hall on 28 July. The event focuses on George Maw, a Victorian traveller who collected plants and fossils. Admission is required.

George Maw was a Victorian “influencer” who travelled around the world collecting plants and fossils and took inspiration for designs to use in his tile business.

Collect a Victorian style passport from the Entrance Hall and find the suitcases around the house and garden to follow George on his travels as he visits places such as Syria, Morocco, Spain and India.

Each suitcase has an activity, items to look at, and a stamp for your passport. You can also follow George’s social posts by scanning QR codes that can be found in the suitcases.

The trail is free and open every day the house and garden are open.

Description supplied by the event organiser.
