About This Event

The George Maw's Global Suitcase Journey will run on selected dates, offering admission to Benthall Hall in Shrewsbury, which features George Maw's collection of plants and fossils.

George Maw was a Victorian “influencer” who travelled around the world collecting plants and fossils and took inspiration for designs to use in his tile business.

Collect a Victorian style passport from the Entrance Hall and find the suitcases around the house and garden to follow George on his travels as he visits places such as Syria, Morocco, Spain and India.

Each suitcase has an activity, items to look at, and a stamp for your passport. You can also follow George’s social posts by scanning QR codes that can be found in the suitcases.

The trail is free and open every day the house and garden are open.
