Running throughout the year, these informal walks will allow you to experience nature throughout the seasons in the company of an expert.
See what’s being planted and what’s in bloom; discover hidden wildlife; and ask questions about the important work undertaken by the Ranger team to look after and conserve the landscape.
The themes for the Rambles in 2026 are:

March: Early Spring Bluebells and Blossom
April: Blossom and Bluebells
May: Blossom
June: Summer Flowers and Wildlife
July: Summer Flowers and Wildlife
August: Summer Flowers and Wildlife
September: Fruit and Nut
October: Parkland and Trees
November: Parkland and Trees
Depending on the weather and time of year, the walks will vary in length – from 1 hour in the winter to up to 2 hours in the summer, covering between 1.5 and 3 miles. Sensible footwear for muddy and uneven terrain is advisable.
No need to book. Meet outside the Long Barn Café at 11am.
The Ranger Ramble is a free walk, but donations towards our ongoing conservation work would be very welcome. Normal admission charges apply.
