Dates & times Mondays 19:00 -20:00 6th July – 31st August About the Event Build strength, flexibility and confidence in your practice with Functional Foundations, a welcoming nine-week yoga programme designed to help you move well, feel better and deepen your understanding of yoga. Whether you’re completely new to yoga, returning after a break, or looking to strengthen the fundamentals of an existing practice, this course offers a supportive space to explore movement, breath and awareness at your own pace. Each session combines: Breathwork and mindful movement Foundational yoga postures (asana) Gentle flowing sequences Deep stretching and mobility work Meditation and relaxation What is Functional Yoga? Functional yoga focuses on how a posture feels and works in your body rather than how it looks. Instead of aiming for a one-size-fits-all shape, this approach recognises that every body is different. By honouring individual anatomy, mobility and ability levels, functional yoga helps you develop a sustainable, personalised practice that supports strength, flexibility and overall wellbeing. Who is it for? Functional Foundations is suitable for: Complete beginners Anyone returning to yoga after time away More experienced practitioners who want to revisit and strengthen the foundations of their practice Please note that this class is not suitable during pregnancy. If you have any concerns about your ability to participate, please seek advice from a healthcare professional before booking. About the Facilitator Hannah Nicole Simpson hannahnicolesimpsonyoga@gmail.com Hannah Nicole Simpson is a 300-Hour Certified Yoga Teacher, with training in ashtanga-based vinyasa flow, yin yoga, meditation and pranayama. She has a passion for functional yoga and will work with you to discover the best asana variations for your body, helping you to find ease and achieve flexibility, openness and (ultimately) more comfort in your own skin. Accessibility The Art Room is wheelchair accessible. The Salisbury Centre’s kitchen door and toilet are now wheelchair accessible. The Garden can also be accessed by wheelchairs via a movable ramp via the Art Room Annex. Please let the organisers know in advance of any access requirements.
