Greene Fox Bushcraft Summer Adventures at Brockholes Nature Reserve Get outdoors this summer and learn bushcraft skills with Greene Fox at Brockholes. Perfect for children and families, these hands-on sessions are packed with adventure, creativity and practical outdoor skills. Choose from a fantastic range of workshops throughout the summer holidays, including Wild Play, Stone Age Bushcraft, Fire Lighting Skills, Whittling, Wild Cooking, Bushcraft Medicine, Wild Art and Minibeast Adventures. Activities vary by session and may include den building, campfire cooking, woodland crafts, nature art, bug hunting, shelter building, foraging and traditional bushcraft techniques. With sessions suitable for a range of ages and abilities, there's something for every young explorer. Most activities take place outdoors, so please wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear. Green Fox Bushcraft Summer Holiday Programme Saturday 25 July & Sunday 26 July Whittling Workshop 10:00am – 12:30pm £25 per ticket (1 adult & 1 child aged 9+) Learn safe whittling techniques while creating your own woodland animal or handcrafted jam spreader under the guidance of Green Fox instructors. Wild Play Session 1:00pm – 3:00pm £12.50 per child A fun-filled outdoor adventure including: Den building Nature-inspired art Woodland games Simple bushcraft crafts Toasting marshmallows over the campfire Saturday 1 August & Sunday 2 August Stone Age Wild Play 10:30am – 12:30pm £12.50 per child (Children must be accompanied by an adult.) Travel back in time with a Stone Age adventure featuring: Shelter building Cordage making Making and using natural paints Drilling your own pendant Campfire activities Fire Lighting Skills Workshop 1:00pm – 3:30pm £12.50 per child (Suitable for ages 5+ and must be supervised by an adult.) Discover up to five traditional fire-lighting techniques in this hands-on bushcraft workshop. Saturday 8 August & Sunday 9 August Wild Art Play Session 10:30am – 12:30pm £12.50 per child (Children must be accompanied by an adult.) Create beautiful artwork using nature, including: Eco-clay Hapa Zome (leaf printing) Natural tie-dye Woodland paints Woodland eyes Nordic slinging Fire Lighting Skills Workshop 1:00pm – 3:30pm £12.50 per child (Ages 5+ with adult supervision.) Saturday 15 August Wild Cooking Workshop 10:00am – 12:00pm £15 per child Cook three delicious campfire treats using traditional bushcraft techniques (no marshmallows this time!). Fire Lighting Skills Workshop 1:00pm – 3:30pm £12.50 per child (Ages 5+ with adult supervision.) Sunday 16 August Bushcraft Medicine Workshop 10:00am – 12:00pm £12.50 per child (Suitable for ages 5+.) Discover useful woodland plants through foraging before creating: Herbal tea Smudge stick Natural poultice Traditional "painkiller" Tincture Fire Lighting Skills Workshop 1:00pm – 3:30pm £12.50 per child (Ages 5+ with adult supervision.) Saturday 22 August Minibeast Wild Play 10:30am – 12:30pm £12.50 per child A bug-filled adventure including: Bug hunts Sweep netting Minibeast-inspired nature art Spider web obstacle course Campfire Charcoal Pencil Making & Natural Art Workshop 1:30pm – 4:00pm £15 per child Create your own charcoal drawing pencil over the campfire before using it to produce nature-inspired artwork.
