About This Event

A workshop to re-build the bug hotel will be held at Blickling Estate on 21 August 2026. The event will be led by Ranger Elissa and will take place in the orchard at the entrance to the parkland.

Join Ranger Elissa as she helps rebuild the bug hotel ('The Bugs Arms') in the orchard at the entrance to the parkland. Can you lend a hand and help restore this important wildlife habitat?

From 11am–12pm, Elissa will also be giving a short talk about bug hotels, why they matter, and how you can create your own at home.

Free family event – no booking required. Simply drop in and stay for as long as you like. Standard parking charges apply (£5 per car; free for National Trust members).

Why not make a day of it? Hire a bike or explore the parkland on foot, enjoy a picnic in the orchard, or head into the Gardens for plenty of mini-beast themed Summer of Play activities and games, plus the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trail.
