A screening of the 1925 version of this classic silent movie, accompanied on the magnificent organ in St Matthew's Northamtpon

Celebrating our Patronal weekend at St Matthew's and the 20th anniversary of the rebuilding of the Walker pipe organ, we look forward to hosting this unique event which pairs the visual spectacle of the 1925 version of Phantom of the Opera on big screen with the sound world of our church organ, put through its paces by internationally acclaimed organist Darius Battiwalla (Leeds City Organist). This is how silent movies were traditionally accompanied, and there is great skill required on the part of the organist to put an improvised sound track to the scenes of the opera.
