Walter Crick was an early member of the Society’s Geology Section. He was a businessman, palaeontologist and conchologist, and was first a student and later a colleague of Beeby Thompson. He went on to correspond with Charles Darwin, and his grandson was the molecular biologist Francis Crick. Bob Purser will introduce Walter’s life and his contribution to science, followed by an opportunity to explore the Crick fossil and microfossil collection.
