The event will take place on 29 September 2026 at CSpace in Newquay and consists of a three-part series designed for Cornwall's creative sector. This business-focused programme aims to explain what new B Corp standards could mean for participating enterprises without offering public attendance. Organisers have noted that the sessions serve as a networking opportunity where attendees can discuss implications for their businesses with various speakers.
Curious about B Corp? Come and find out what the new standards could mean for your business.
B Creative is a free three-part series for Cornwall’s creative sector. The first session is a chance to get a clearer picture of B Corp and find out whether certification is something you’d like to explore.
We’ll unpack the new standards in practical terms and hear from local creatives with first-hand experience of the B Corp journey.
No previous knowledge needed, and no pressure to continue beyond the first session.
What we’ll cover
B Corp has changed, with a new set of standards and a different approach to certification. During the morning, we’ll look at what those changes mean for creative SMEs.
We’ll also hear from people who know the process first-hand. Our guest panel will share their experiences of B Corp, including the useful bits, the challenges and what they’ve learned along the way.
There’ll be plenty of time to ask questions and get into the practical details, so you can leave with a clearer idea of what becoming a B Corp could involve for your own business.
Who it’s for
B Creative is for limited companies based in Cornwall working in the creative and cultural sector.
B Corp might already be on your radar, or this could be the first time you’ve considered it. Either way, you don’t need to have started the process or know your way around the standards.
The first session is useful in its own right, so you’re welcome to come along to learn more and see whether B Corp feels relevant to where your business is heading.
What is B Corp?
B Corp is a certification and framework that helps businesses understand and improve their impact.
It considers how a business treats people, its environmental impact, how it is governed and the role it plays in the wider community.
For a small creative business, that can offer a useful structure for applying your values in practice. Certification also connects you with a growing community of B Corps in Cornwall and further afield.
Under the new standards, the previous points-based model has changed. Businesses now work across seven impact topics, with requirements shaped by their size and sector.
B Creative will make that language more relevant to the way creative companies actually work.
What happens next?
If you want to continue after the first session, you can sign up for two smaller practical workshops:
- 21 October: People & purpose
At CAST, Helston
- 11 November: Planet & collective action
At IntoBodmin, Bodmin
These sessions will give you time to work through the standards in more detail and apply them to your own business, using B Lab’s tools and resources alongside other creative companies taking part.
Anyone continuing with B Creative will attend both working sessions, and you’ll need to have attended the first event to join them.
