Northumbrian Pipers at Wallington

Northumbrian Pipers at Wallington

About This Event

Pipers will play at Wallington on 2 August 2026 at 14:00. The event is part of an open day where pipers are welcome to join in.

Patricia always held an open day on the first Sunday in August at which any piper was welcome to come along and join in. You will hear the region’s unique and iconic musical instrument that has been entwined with the history of Wallington for centuries.

Listen out for the traditional sound of the Northumbrian pipes on Sunday 2 August. The soothing tones are well known around Wallington. Patricia, the last surviving child of Sir Charles Philips Trevelyan, was a proficient player herself and would often serenade visitors from the gallery.

If you would like to know more about the pipes, the music the pipers are playing, or how you could learn to play yourself, please do ask. The pipers would be delighted to talk to you.
