Exploring how language, poetry and heritage connect us across time.

Our speakers

Dr Wajdan Majeed is an Iraqi-British archaeological scientist, poet and journalist whose talk, “From Sumer to Milton Keynes: How Language Connects Humanity,” explores how ancient language connects cultures, history and our shared human story.

Dr Zhraa Alhaboby is an acclaimed Iraqi writer whose work blends history, mystery and medicine, with novels and short stories recognised across the Middle East

and internationally, including the Iraq+100 anthology.

Ruby Jah is a passionate spoken-word poet whose honest, emotive writing explores prejudice, heartache and mental health, with performances across open-mic stages

in the UK and US.
