About This Event
The HandleBards troupe will perform a production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth at Ordsall Hall in Manchester. The outdoor theatre performance is scheduled for 2 August 2026 at 17:30. Pricing details are available on the website.
Join the HandleBards troupe for a hilariously high-octane production of Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ like you’ve never seen before! Forget the tears and tragedy, our Macbeth is chock full of mishaps, mayhem and mirth. We all know the story. Three Witches promise Macbeth the Scottish crown and like any normal people would, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth plot to kill the king. Things get rapidly out of hand from there as foul deeds are done, plots unravel and mysterious spirits appear… Suitable for all ages and apparitions. The HandleBards are an intrepid three-strong troupe spending the summer touring Macbeth by electric van, bringing environmentally sustainable Shakespeare to venues across the UK. Gates will open at 4:30pm and the show will begin at 5:30pm. IMPORTANT: Please note that Ordsall Hall closes for the day at 4:00pm and ticketholders will be asked to leave the grounds at this time as well so we can prepare for the show. Early arrival is therefore not advised. Our café will be open for alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, along with a selection of light snacks. Tickets Standard – £20.50 21 and Under – £13 12 and Under – £5 Under 5’s are free – no ticket needed! Appropriate for all ages. Booking required. Important information The performance will be taking place outside on our lawn, rain or shine, so please come dressed for the weather. No seating is provided so you will need to bring your own chairs and/or blankets with you to sit on. You are also welcome to bring in snacks and refreshments for a picnic. We do not allow umbrellas as these can block the view for others. There is step free access from our car park to the lawn, and the lawn itself is also flat, for easy access. There are flat paths throughout the gardens and accessible toilet facilities. Travel Updates The Metrolink will be undergoing extensive improvement works from July 13th until August 2nd. Due to this, no trams will be running on the Media City or Eccles line and the tram stop nearest Ordsall Hall will be closed (as well as all other nearby tram stops). There will be replacement bus services in operation. More information here – https://tfgm.com/tram-improvement-works/deansgate-castlefield-and-trafford-bar-works There is onsite parking at Ordsall Hall however it is limited.
