About This Event

German deathcore outfit Mental Cruelty is set to bring their theatrical, blackened sound to Manchester Academy on Wednesday 2 December 2026, with support from Ov Sulfur, Extermination Dismemberment and Sun Eater. The five-piece, fronted by vocalist Lukas Nicolai, fuses crushing breakdowns with symphonic and folk elements, crafting a dense, atmospheric wall of sound. Their 2024 album *Zwielicht* draws on dark folklore and cinematic orchestration, a vision the band translates into a visceral live experience marked by guttural vocals and churning guitar work. The Manchester Academy’s standing-room configuration suits the intensity, with the low end of the PA system likely to amplify the sheer weight of the performance. Tickets are priced at £20.
