About This Event

The event 'Om, Consciousness and Daily Life' will be held at the Light Centre, Monument in London on 7 November 2026. The session explores advancements in scanning techniques regarding the inner world.

Modern technology has enabled scientists to look deep into space. Advancements in scanning techniques have opened up a whole new world into the inner workings of the brain. This has renewed our interest, as conscious beings, in consciousness studies. Scientists in a variety of fields are working towards deepening our understanding of Consciousness. Yet the earliest references to Consciousness are to be found in the ancient Vedic texts – the Upanishads. Their wisdom laid the foundation for Indian, and in particular Yoga philosophy. In this course, we will deepen our understanding of AUM, and Consciousness, by studying select verses from the Mandukya Upanishad. We will explore AUM within the threefold context of Koshas, Chakras and Consciousness. During the day, we will work with asanas, pranayama, Nada Yoga practices, and Yoga Nidra. Through discussion, reflection and practice we will explore the relevance of this study to our daily lives. The day will include working with asana, pranayama and Yoga Nidra, within the context of our study of AUM. This will be a day of Meditation, Reflection, Chanting, Nada Yoga, asana, pranayama & Yoga Nidra. It is suitable for yoga practitioners, student teachers, teachers, tutors. During the morning session we will cover: Introduction Asana & Pranayama Chakras with Nada Yoga practice Group work and discussion on the relevance of OM in our daily lives Study of the Mandukya Upanishad Q&A During the afternoon session we will cover: Study, reflection and discussion of the text Yoga Nidra Developing a practice of Meditation within the context of the days work Q&A About Rajesh Rajesh David trained at The Yoga Institute, Mumbai, India.
