About This Event

The Kings for Life (Drawing) Class is scheduled for September 6, 2026, at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre in London. It features a drag king/things life drawing workshop aimed at artists looking to experience drag in an innovative way and drag performers aiming to enhance their skills through live modeling. Admission costs between £10.00 and £20.00.

A Drag King/Thing Life Drawing Workshop for artists to experience drag in a new way and drag artists to gain a new skill in life modelling. Join us for an exciting life drawing workshop dedicated to providing a platform for Drag Kings/Things to model and offering artists a unique experience in capturing the essence of drag through art. Our inclusive sessions cater to all skill levels, whether you’re a novice or a seasoned artist like the next David Hockney! Each pose is timed, and we may suggest different drawing techniques to inspire and warm up your artistic flow. What You’ll Need: Drawing Surface: Get creative—paper, an iPad, or cardboard boxes! Drawing Materials: Anything goes—pencils, charcoal, pastels, or paints. It’s a perfect opportunity to experiment and try something new! Pose breakdown will be 4 x 5 minutes, 2 x 10 minutes, 3 x 15 minutes, and 1 x 20 minutes (as time allows). Come along, settle in and drawing starts just after 3.30pm. Please bring your own materials (Although we generally have a few pads and pencils on hand in case!). All skill levels, genders and orientations are welcome. Important: Recording of the session is not permitted. As with all our sessions, Nudity is not part of this workshop. It is up to the model’s comfort level when posing how much or little clothing they will wear and being mindful of other patrons in the space, as it will not be private. Our main priority is to create a safe environment for the talent. That said, sometimes sessions do veer towards the erotic/kink based on the model. We ask that you respect the model’s privacy by NOT taking any photos or recordings during the session. Ticket sales contribute to paying our models, covering hire fees, and ensuring we can continue providing these fantastic sessions. Follow us on Instagram for more updates and to build a vibrant, creative community together! About the facilitator Matt David (they/them) is a queer artist and founder of Kings for Life (Drawing). Kings for Life (Drawing) is a workshop allowing artists to experience drag in a few ways and be able to draw new and exciting subjects, as well as drag kings/things to gain new skills in life modelling and gain work outside of just the nightlife scene. They have facilitated multiple creative workshops, including Self Portrait workshops for Positive East, alongside making their own artwork with a focus on portraiture and life drawing.
