Join us for a free lunchtime concert by the Fika Duo from the Royal Academy of Music.

The Fika Duo was formed in 2023 by Emma Loerstad (Flute) and Zoë Meadowcroft (Guitar). Both are current second-year undergraduates studying music performance at the Royal Academy of Music.

The duo’s name comes from the Swedish fika, a break spent with friends and family over a cup of coffee and cinnamon bun, regularly enjoyed by Emma and Zoë after concerts and rehearsals.

Fika Duo have performed a wide range of repertoire, with a particular focus on popular music styles from South America. During their time at the Academy, they hope to explore new genres and styles of music, and expand the existing repertoire with new commissions as well as their own compositions and arrangements.

Fika Duo - Emma and Zoë are recommended by their heads of department for external performances, reflecting their professionalism and high standard of musicianship. They recently performed at the Aylesbury Concert Series and have an upcoming concert in Winchester in July, as part of the Royal Academy of Music's external concert series.
