Come and Join Inspiral for an afternoon of urban exploration, foraging and jam making in the wilds of Surrey Quays.
Foraging and Gleaning Walkshop invites you to glean and collect the autumn fruits of South London. To come together and make jam and other delicacies from the fruits and food growing wild and off the streets of busy London.
On the verges, entangled in parklands, along hidden pathways and in full view – these free gifts of nature gratefully foraged give way to conversation and exchange across cultural/language boundaries.
Our first gleaning walk is scheduled for Thursday afternoon 10 September - with SDCAS.
Then full wild jam making workshop will take place on Saturday 12th September from 2.30 until 6pm – for more info and to see the work - unique walkshops - of InspiralLondon visit: https://www.inspirallondon.com/
Note the walk is in 2 parts - collecting and foraging then sometime to experiment making jam outside. We will meet promptly at 2.30pm outside the main entrance of Pavilion Cafe by the Lake in Southwark Park. Then walk and forage along a short walk route winding towards Stave Hill Ecology Park in the heart of Surrey Quays.
From around 4pm we will start 'jam -making' at location near to Stave Hill.
Please come suitably prepared for weather - if hot with sun protection and water, if wet with good shoes and waterproofs.
