About This Event

A Craft Masterclass: Batik Art Painting Workshop will be held at Battersea Power Station on 12 and 13 September 2026. The session takes place in Turbine Hall A and focuses on batik painting techniques.

Date: 12 & 13 September Time: 12:15pm-1:15pm, 10:15am-11:15am Location: Level One, Turbine Hall A, Battersea Power Station, London Come and make something beautiful. Join Ying, founder of Batik Ying, for a hands-on batik painting experience in the heart of one of London’s most iconic landmarks. In just one hour, you’ll discover the ancient Malaysian art of batik and leave with a stunning 20cm hand-painted batik artwork, made entirely by you. No experience needed. No mess to worry about. Just colour, craft, and the quiet joy of making something with your own hands. What to expect: – Introduction to batik, how it is made, and the tools & materials needed for batik canting – Experiment with mixing colours to produce the right tone and shade – Batik painting on a pre-wax batik, guided by YING – All materials and tools provided – Make a meaningful and personal artwork that reflects your style. You’ll create a one-of-a-kind piece that could be displayed in your home or given as a thoughtful gift. Workshop details: Duration: 1 hour · Suitable for age 5 and above · All materials provided · No experience needed Note: Children aged 8+ can attend but must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.
