Step back in time for an unforgettable celebration honouring Bob Elliott of the legendary All Nations Club, and Hackney’s historic Reggae era.
Hosted by Nzinga Dance Company and featuring Special guest selectors
The legendary Lloyd Coxsone, Reggae Pioneer, producer, and operator of Coxsone Sound who really needs no introduction
DJ Melvina Moves who lists festival appearances such as Boomtown and The London International Ska Festival amongst her achievements, as well as providing DJ stageshow support for Don Letts, Dawn Penn, The Dualers, Janet Kay, Carroll Thompson, David Rodigan, and many more,
Lovers Rock Songstress Winsome Moncrieffe-Mitchell , a veteran of the UK Lovers Rock scene and former member of the Family Love group, who has also worked with many Reggae icons, will bring back some golden memories of yesteryear
+ A Hackney Reggae history photographic exhibition.
This is a grown folks affair so all Dons & Donettes, Dub Girls & Dappers, roll out for a musical journey through the music of a bygone era. Bring your elders too. & your (grown up) youngers so they can enjoy and experience some Hackney music heritage history.
Lets have a good time and celebrate when Reggae was King in Hackney. & Bob Elliott who opened All Nations as a social sancturary, safe space and club for Hackney's Caribbean community at a time when mainstream spaces denied entry to Caribbean people
