Why Mentoring Matters
The construction industry is facing significant challenges, from skills shortages and workforce retention to attracting and developing future talent. Mentoring has become one of the most effective ways to support professional growth, transfer knowledge and create stronger, more resilient teams.
For women working within construction and the wider built environment, mentoring can be transformational. Whether you are just starting your career, transitioning into a leadership role, developing a business, or simply looking to build your confidence, having access to guidance, support and shared experience can make all the difference.
Equally, becoming a mentor provides an opportunity to give back to the industry, support the next generation and help shape future leaders.
During This Session, Kath Will Explore:
✅ What makes a successful mentor
✅ The benefits of mentoring for both mentors and mentees
✅ How mentoring supports career progression and retention
✅ Building confidence and leadership capabilities
✅ Practical techniques for developing meaningful mentoring relationships
✅ The role mentoring plays in creating a more inclusive construction industry
