A lofty Hike from Hebden Bridge town centre up to Lumb Falls. Returning for a mid afternoon lunch (optional)

The Walk - 6 miles (approx. 3.5hrs)

This a gorgous scenic route from Hebden Bridge town centre up to Lumb Falls via Midgehole. The hike will take us up and around Hardcastle Crags with a chance to sit for a picnic lunch befroe heading back to Hebden Bridge.

There will be plenty of rest stops. Toilet facilities are at Gibson Mill only. We are mainly walking on paths and tracks through woodland, fields and moorland across stony and uneven ground. Taking the route at a leisurely pace and including rest stops we should be back in Hebden Bridge for 2pm.

Gear & clothing

Please pack and wear suitable clothing for the weather on the day. Snacks, plenty hydration and layers are essential.

You will need:

Drinks and whatever snacks you might need

Please make sure you wear sturdy and suitable footwear for the hike

Rendesvous, parking & getting there

Rendezvous - We will meet outside Hebden Bridge Town Hall in the centre of Hebden.

Time - MEET @ 10AM for a 10:15AM depart

Parking for the walk - There are various parking spots. Please be aware that the APCOA parking app used in Hebden can be temperamental, cash is a good option. It's around £1 p/h.

Care share - please care share wherever you can. Let me know if you want a lift or can offer a lift!

Public transport - there is a train station at Hebden Bridge with trains running regularly from Leeds and Manchester. We may be able to pick you up from the station? Just call Danny to discuss before booking.
