Come spend a day with us amongst the plants 🌿
Join Nicola Mahdiyyah Goodall and the Red Tent community for a full day outdoors in beautiful Leeds - we'll be around Shadwell.
We’ll walk, forage, gather, make medicine, drink tea and learn together.
This is an opportunity to slow down and begin noticing the medicine growing around us: in hedgerows, fields, gardens and woodland edges.
We’ll explore how to safely identify plants, when and how to harvest them, what parts we use, and some of the traditional ways plants have been prepared for women, families and communities.
During the day we’ll explore:
• Identifying useful local medicinal plants
• Safe and respectful foraging
• Plant folklore and traditional uses
• Women’s health, menstruation, pregnancy and postpartum plant medicine
• How to harvest, dry and preserve herbs
• Making simple preparations from what we gather
• Blending and drinking freshly foraged herbal tea
• Building confidence in recognising the plants growing around you
And, because this is Red Tent, there will be plenty of conversation, stories, questions and learning from one another.
You do not need to be a herbalist or have any previous foraging experience. Beginners are very welcome.

Who is this for?
Anyone curious about herbs, traditional medicine, birth work, postpartum care, menstrual medicine, foraging or simply developing a deeper relationship with the plants around us.

Come for the plants.
Come for the fresh air.
Come to put flowers in your hair or hijab, make tea together and spend a day learning in the way humans have learned for generations: outside, together, with the living world as one of our teachers. 🌿
