About This Event

The Island of Secrets Walk is a guided tour through the former Atomic Weapons Research Area at Orford Ness National Nature Reserve. Tickets are free.

Step beyond the usual ‘no access’ sign and take a guided walk through the former Atomic Weapons Research Area, where you'll learn more about the top-secret work that was carried out on Orford Ness during the early 20th century.

The walk will be led by members of IRGON (International Research Group Orford Ness), and although access to the interior of the buildings is no longer possible, it will bring you as close to these fascinating buildings as possible.

Please note: This is a guided walk around the AWRE only and does not include access to other parts of Orford Ness.
