About This Event

Kate Ashbrook presents a T-Time Talk at Leith Hill in Guildford regarding the right to enjoy the outdoors. Ashbrook has served as general secretary of the Open Spaces Society for 42 years.

Kate Ashbrook has been general secretary of the Open Spaces Society for 42 years. She has also been a trustee, chair, and president of the Ramblers, and a member of the former Countryside Agency board. She is currently vice-chair of the Campaign for National Parks and of the Dartmoor Preservation Association. She has championed our rights to enjoy paths and open spaces for much of her life, and in 2002 won a case in the Court of Appeal against East Sussex County Council which had failed to reopen the infamous, blocked ‘van Hoogstraten’ footpath in Framfield.
