A guided walk looking for seabirds and autumn migrants. Birds should be gathering on the shore as the tide rises. Kelburn Park includes some exotic trees which should still be in leaf, allowing us to practice our tree identification skills. The total distance walked should be less than two miles and there are some benches along the way.
Meet in the car park at Parklea outside Parklea Branching Out, Parklea Road, Port Glasgow PA14 6TR. What3Words: exotic.among.bags. OS grid reference: NS 35221 74073.
Public transport: there are half-hourly trains to Woodhall Station, then take the footbridge over the A8 to Parklea. McGill's X22 bus goes to Woodhall Terrace, but check the timetable for this infrequent service.
Children over 8 years welcome but children must be accompanied by an adult. Bring binoculars if you have them, and wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear. Bring a packed lunch.
