Glasgow’s favourite sky-high shopping experience has announced its much-anticipated return, as Off the Rails is set to take over VEGA at YOTEL Glasgow for a special Golden Hour edition this summer. Bringing together some of the city’s most-loved pre-loved fashion traders, local designers and independent brands, guests will be able to soak up the last of the summer sunshine alongside a handpicked lineup of local creatives on Thursday 20 August from 6:30-10pm. Among the line-up are Glasgow favourites Peachy Threads, Apiphany Jewellery, Modern Love Story, Zo Jewellery and Happy Sad Designs - plus many more. In true Off the Rails fashion, the event will blend shopping and socialising, giving guests the chance to discover their new favourite brands against the backdrop of the city’s stunning golden hour with a soundtrack provided by a live DJ and a menu of refreshing cocktails and snacks inspired by the season. While watching the sun dip below the Glasgow skyline from VEGA’s iconic top-floor bar and bowling lanes, the event promises a celebration of everything summer in the city has to offer. Neil Taylor, General Manager at YOTEL Glasgow, said: "Off The Rails has become one of our favourite events in the VEGA calendar because it champions the brilliant independent businesses that make Glasgow's creative scene so special. “This summer, we wanted to capture that unmistakable Golden Hour feeling, with great music, fantastic local brands, seasonal drinks by Havana Club UK and some of the best views in the city. "Whether you're updating your summer wardrobe, looking for something unique for your home or simply catching up with friends after work, this Off The Rails is all about bringing people together to make the most of a summer evening while celebrating Glasgow's independent creative scene." Sarah Gibbons, owner of Modern Love Story, said: "Off The Rails is one of those events that's become a real highlight of the summer for Glasgow's independent businesses. “There's such a great buzz on the night and it's the perfect chance to meet new customers, catch up with familiar faces and showcase what we've been working on. "We'll be bringing along some of our favourite pieces for the season, so whether you're treating yourself or looking for something a little different, we can't wait to see everyone at VEGA." Laura O’Hanlon, founder of Happy Sad Designs, added: "Shopping independently should feel like an experience, and Off The Rails absolutely nails that. “You're discovering brands you might not have come across before, chatting to the people behind them and enjoying an amazing night out at the same time. "Throw in the cocktails, the music and those skyline views and it's easy to see why so many people come back year after year. We can't wait to be part of it.” Tickets for Off the Rails: Golden Hour are £5, which includes a welcome drink with Havana Club UK.
