Organised by An Comunn Gàidhealach, this iconic festival has been celebrating Gaelic language, music and arts since 1891, and 2026 marks its 134th year. The Mòd is a true showcase of Scotland’s rich Gaelic heritage, offering a packed programme of competitions across disciplines such as choral and solo singing, Highland dancing, accordion, fiddle, clàrsach, drama, poetry, storytelling, and Battle of the Bands. With competitors of all ages and skill levels, the event fosters inclusivity, pride and a strong sense of community. The event's renowned fringe programme will bring Glasgow to life with concerts, cèilidhs, workshops, talks, and sessions in venues across the city. Expect performances from some of Scotland’s top traditional musicians and Gaelic singers, alongside opportunities to immerse yourself in the language and culture. Glasgow, with its passionate Gaelic-speaking community, dynamic arts scene, and world-class venues, is the perfect host for this year’s festival. The city has a storied history with the Mòd, having hosted it 12 times before, most recently in 2019.
