Touring her latest album, Tìm, visual artist and musician, Mairearad Green is happiest when time feels slow and writing music and painting often transports her to that mindful state. “They are a form of meditation for me and I feel so fortunate to have this in my life to bring me to the here and now, being present and in that moment.” Written as an integral part of Mairearad’s exhibition at An Talla Solais, Mairearad’s new album and live tour, aims to do that for people, to encourage them to pause, look and listen, bringing them into that exact moment in time. “My work is a visceral response to each moment in time, turning up every day, enjoying the process of creative interpretation, the stillness versus the movement, appreciating the small, the slow changes in landscape tones, and the ever-shifting skylines.” With haunting vocals, small pipes and accordion, Mairearad will be joined on tour with multi-instrumentalist, Mike Vass.
