Scotland’s leading inclusive dance company, Indepen-dance, presents Gathered Together 2026 from Wednesday 2 - Saturday 5 September. Over four days, the festival will host performances, workshops and presentations from some of the world’s leading inclusive dance organisations. Evening Performance - Wednesday 2 September: Tightrope Gathered Together 2026 opens with a special performance from Amici Dance Theatre Company (England) and Indepen-dance (Scotland) Roll up, Roll up…Welcome to the Greatest Show on Earth! Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls - the circus is about to begin! Welcome to Tightrope, the biggest, most dangerous, amazingly spectacular show ever staged. This is the story of an ageing circus company who have stuck together, struggling against the odds to survive, but will this be their final performance? There’ll be clowns and jugglers, knife throwers and illusionists, stilt walkers and unicyclists; trapeze artists and aerialists flying through the air and of course, the not-to-be-missed, death-defying tightrope walker. As Indepen-dance celebrates its 30th Anniversary, the company is excited to be sharing Tightrope once again - a piece originally created by Amici to celebrate its own 30th anniversary back in 2010.
