About This Event

Join a fascinating journey through time that brings the heritage of Branscombe village to life. Explore the village’s rich history, including tales of ghosts, ancient sarcophagi, and smuggling and trades that once filled the bustling village streets. The route will also highlight the stunning natural features that make Branscombe one of the most picturesque villages in Devon. The guided route starts at the Sea Shanty Café on Branscombe Beach and meanders along the valley, taking in some true rarities such as a thatched forge and a working watermill along the way. A mostly level walk with short sections of slight uphill and downhill gradients. The walk will follow gravel-surfaced footpath and pass through fields with uneven grassy ground underfoot.
