About This Event

The Hidden Cameras will bring their unique sound to Sneaky Petes this August. Originating from Toronto in 2001, the group's style blends indie-pop with a distinct, evocative energy. Attendees can explore the atmosphere created by this pioneering collective of musicians. Tickets are available for details on the website.

Formed in Toronto in 2001 and led by singer-songwriter Joel Gibb, The Hidden Cameras are a pioneering indie-pop collective. Often described by Gibb as 'gay church folk music', the band is celebrated for its orchestral arrangements, choir-backed melodies, and celebratory themes of queer identity. Their live shows are legendary for their theatricality, historically involving strings, brass, and balaclava-clad go-go dancers. Following a decade of collaboration with artists like Rufus Wainwright and Neil Tennant, the band released their meta dance-pop album BRONTO in 2025, spawning popular remixes by the Pet Shop Boys and Vince Clarke. The band is also performing as special guests for the Scissor Sisters at Glasgow’s Queen’s Park on 30 August 2026, making this a significant summer for the group in Scotland!
