About This Event

On Wednesday 19 August 2026 at 7.30pm, the Church of the Sacred Heart in Edinburgh presents *O for a Thousand Tongues – Celebrating The Musical Wesleys*, a concert staged as part of the Sacred Arts Festival. The programme unites the Sacred Arts Festival Singers, organist Max Carsley, and a brass ensemble from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, all exploring the rich musical heritage of the Wesley family. Alongside established repertoire, the evening introduces new works from winners of the 2025 competition, injecting a contemporary voice into this longstanding tradition. Within the church’s resonant acoustics, voice, organ, and brass converge to dramatise the narrative of a family whose hymns shaped congregational singing for centuries. Tickets are priced between £10 and £15.
